Painter falls on Postman

A PAINTER died when he fell 7m from a balcony and landed on a postman at a small domestic job in Queens Gate Terrace in South-West London last week.

It was thought the man was painting the outside of the property but did not have proper ladder access to the scaffolding.

He appears to have been climbing over the balcony to carry out the work when he fell, sustaining serious head injuries.

The postman was not seriously injured.

Fall Protection Associates specialise in providing height safety training tailored to suit individuals, specific buildings or applications. It is not much use having the correct Personal Fall Protection Equipment and no idea of how to use and maintain it, as the old saying goes 'All the gear and no idea' sometimes rings true.

Corporate Killing - An unprotected edge or opening is a hazard, an unprotected person falling over or through it is a risk. Who will be responsible in your organisation if an untrained employee is killed whilst carrying out work at height.
